Auburn Sports Properties Promotes Ben Harling to CEO


AUBURN, Ala. – Five year veteran of Auburn Sports Properties, Ben harling, has been promoted to General Manager of Property, Playfly Sports Properties and Auburn Athletics announced today. After serving as Interim Managing Director since June 2020, Harling will formally assume the role of Managing Director, effectively immediately.

“Ben seized this opportunity by providing exceptional leadership and making a seamless transition despite the extraordinary challenges of the pandemic”, Director of Athletics Allen Greene mentionned. “His work ethic and commitment to serving corporate partners position Ben to continue to develop the synergy between Auburn Athletics and Auburn Sports Properties. We congratulate Ben on this well-deserved promotion.”

In his second stint at Auburn, Harling will lead Auburn’s business partnerships with national, regional and local brands through an integrated mix of sports marketing platforms.

“Ben has been an integral part of the Auburn Sports Properties staff for several years,” said President of Playfly Sports Properties, David Johnston. “He has demonstrated extraordinary leadership through the challenges presented in 2020 and beyond, proving his ability to successfully run this iconic property for the long term.”

Harling’s first stint at Auburn Sports Properties began as an account manager in January 2011 after numerous stoppages at IMG College properties including the University of Troy and the University of Central Florida. Prior to returning to Auburn in 2016 as Director of Partnership Development, Harling spent three years in business development at Clemson Sports Properties of Learfield Sports.

Over the past five years at Auburn, Harling has negotiated and overseen over 40 corporate partnerships, including comprehensive agreements with Verizon, Cook’s Pest Control, Harbert College of Business and Regions Bank.
