More COVID test sites announced | News, Sports, Jobs
MARQUETTE – COVID-19 test sites at several local sites have been announced.
A new site will open at the Westwood Mall, located at 3020 US 41 West in Marquette Township, starting Monday. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The site will provide rapid antigenic testing free of charge. In addition, polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, tests will be offered with a delay of approximately 48 hours to obtain the results.
No appointment is necessary.
Individuals are asked to bring their insurance card, although people who do not have insurance will not be turned away, organizers said.
Additional information on testing and vaccination is available on the Marquette County Health Department website at mqthealth.org.
Sawyer International Airport also announced that testing will continue at the airport but will be limited to ticketed passengers or tenants accredited to the airport.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday by appointment or without appointment.
Rapid and PCR tests are available on site, with PCR lab results usually given within three days.
The tests are free and insurance is accepted but not compulsory. Visit www.solvhealth.com/ to register for an appointment with Sawyer.
To register for the Westwood Mall site, visit https://honumg.info/Westwood. Individuals can also call 866-809-8282 to find testing facilities statewide or to ask about the status of their results.
Airport officials said that due to the increase in COVID cases and the increased volume of testing by the non-traveling public at the airport, MedNext and Honu Management Group – which partners with the airport for testing – opened the second test site at Westwood Mall.
In both locations, children under 18 need parental permission.
