Farnell has signed a distribution agreement with KUNBUS enhancing its portfolio of solutions for industrial automation and control applications.
Design engineers will be able to save time and money when using devices, gateways and expansion modules from the KUNBUS portfolio to implement Industry 4.0 in their company.
KUNBUS specializes in industrial communication for automation, process, manufacturing, and drive technology delivered through its open-source Raspberry Pi-based modular hardware platform, Revolution Pi.
A flexible and cost-effective industrial-grade device, it brings the performance and simplicity of the Raspberry Pi to the industrial control market. Farnell customers now have a wider range of solutions when designing automation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) projects. The additional functionalities offered by digital and analog extension modules and KUNBUS gateways also facilitate the upgrade.
KUNBUS’ product portfolio is now available for fast delivery from Farnell, including: RevPi Connect+: Powered by Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+, the device gives users maximum freedom when designing and implementing implementation of IIoT projects thanks to the open platform concept. Two Ethernet jacks allow the device to be simultaneously connected to the automation network and the IT network, allowing it to transmit machine data from the shop floor to the cloud or a higher-level IT system.
The RevPi Connect also has two USB sockets, a micro-HDMI socket and a micro-USB socket.
RevPi Core 3+ comes with up to 32 GB of flash memory, the RevPi Core 3+ and is designed as a base module for those who need more storage space than offered by its predecessor the RevPi Core 3. Powered by the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+, the RevPi Core 3+ has two USB sockets, one HDMI socket, one micro-USB socket and one Ethernet connection as interfaces.
Digital and Analog I/O Modules: The range of digital and analog modules can turn Revolution Pi into an industrial control unit when connected to the RevPi Core base module. Three versions are available: a standard version with 14 digital inputs and 14 digital outputs, and two special versions which have either 16 digital inputs or 16 digital outputs. All have the same 28-pin I/O connector on the front. The RevPi Analog I/O (AIO) expansion module adds four analog inputs, two analog outputs, and two RTD channels to a Revolution Pi system. Inputs, outputs, and RTD channels are galvanically isolated from each other and from the circuit logic.
RevPi AIO is interference-proof according to the requirements of EN 61131-2 and can be used from -30°C to +55°C ambient temperature. ·
Modular Gateway Solution Series: Enabling continuous and reliable communication between different networks and systems, the KUNBUS Modular Gateway Solution Series efficiently converts all data that a target network can transfer. It omits the non-transferable data and adds the necessary data in the new network to provide communication from one closed network to the other. Compact plug-and-play DIN-rail mounted protocol converters can be added to connect one network to another and are simple to swap out as needed.
