Sektor-owned distributor Duo has entered into an agreement with Proofpoint, supplying its full range of products to the New Zealand market.
Duo’s Kiwi Partners will now have access to Proofpoint’s Threat Platform, which incorporates controls over email, cloud, security awareness training, identity theft prevention and automation of phishing responses.
“We wanted to add an email security solution to our portfolio, but discovered with Proofpoint that there were many other security solutions that would complement Duo’s offerings,” said Matt Geluk-Rowe, responsible for Duo’s alliance.
“As a result, we are very pleased to have been selected following Proofpoint’s recent distributor assessment.”
Duo will sit alongside Proofpoint’s other regional distributors, which recently came under scrutiny across Asia Pacific. The supplier now works with Ingram Micro in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.
It also gave M.Tech an expanded mandate covering Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Taiwan and Australia.
“The move to work from anywhere has accelerated digital transformation and the move to the cloud, widening the attack surface for businesses,” said Johann Ramchandra, Senior Director of APJ Channel Sales at Proofpoint.
“Today, cybercriminals are increasingly targeting people within organizations rather than systems or infrastructure. We chose Duo because it was important for Proofpoint to align itself with a dedicated cybersecurity distributor that enables organizations take a people-centric approach to security.”
Duo recently bid farewell to chief executive Jo Haanstra, who took up a new role with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) New Zealand in January.
Haanstra, winner of the 2021 Reseller News Women in ICT Awards (WIICTA), has joined PwC NZ as a Principal within the consultancy firm’s Advisory and Alliances team.
She was replaced by David Long of Nextgen NZ as Managing Director.
