Visit Vacaville launches new web page on fire preparedness – The Vacaville Reporter
Visit Vacaville has launched a fire preparedness webpage as part of its commitment to keeping Vacaville’s tourism industry ready to act during adverse events, and to help residents and visitors stay informed and safe.
Current information includes links to web applications for real-time alerts, information on what to do during power outages, and suggestions for travel precautions and supplies to keep on hand in areas. smoky or affected by forest fires. The page will be continually updated with current fire industry news and toolkits as new information becomes available.
“It’s important that our local businesses plan ahead so that employees know what to do during weather watches, red flag warnings or evacuation orders,” said Melyssa Reeves, President and CEO of Visit Vacaville. “During the LNU Lightning Complex, our hotels served as a resource for evacuees, as well as fire response teams; we want to help all of our businesses understand how they can help and prepare their customers and staff. “
As part of its fire preparedness education effort, Visit Vacaville also recently featured Vacaville Fire Marshall, Jill Childers, on the Destination Vacaville podcast. To listen to the interview, visit www.visitvacaville.com/media/destination-vacaville-podcast/
